There Is Good Reason To Be Optimistic
It’s certainly easy to feel disheartened lately. The last few months we have been saturated in news of millions of animals dying, thousands of homes burnt to the ground and tragic loss of human life as some of the world’s largest bush fires ever raged across Australia. Add to that, rising waters in Venice, plastic filling up the oceans, coronavirus, month on month of global record temperatures and politicians still stubbornly backing and subsidising fossil fuel industries.
However, there is some good news! I’ve just spent a few days in Davos Switzerland for the World Economic Forum and it has given me great insight into some big things that are starting to unfold. Away from the media, out of the limelight, and quietly working at creating big shifts on the planet, are some amazing groups of people. You won’t hear about them on Fox News or in your local Murdoch press. These groups know that the change isn’t going to come from the top down, they know that those structures and systems won’t change when those who created them have so much to gain from them. These groups understand that it’s going to come from a collaboration of like-minded individuals who each day, grow in numbers, strategising, brainstorming and slowly gathering momentum to bring about a shift into a new era.
Think of them like civilisation engineers, system strategists and blueprint designers that come together to envision what life might be like on planet Earth in the future. On our own, we can have some minor impact, however when we pull together, then we start to see some real change. Daniel Schmachtenberger so eloquently described in The Portal film and book, how molecules on their own don’t, breath however when they come together in an ordered complexity, they create a cell which now breathes.
Someone recently asked me how they can be part of this shift and join in with these groups. They felt futile on their own, however when I mentioned some of these groups, they yearned to belong to them. They wanted to connect and contribute in a way that would have a greater impact, and so I said I would share them here for all of you.
If you felt compelled to reach out to any of these groups I’m sure they would open their arms for you. There are plenty more popping up around the world, these are just a handful that I’ve come across, so if you know of some that you’d like to share with us, then please head to The Portal Facebook group and share them there.
It’s very exciting to know that there is a large group of people (and growing) committed to shifting the structures and systems that exist currently exits on the planet. Change is coming and it’s coming fast. We are in for a bumpy ride but we will get through this and something really beautiful is on the other side. Let’s keep holding the vision for that.
Did you know that you can host a screening of The Portal film in a cinema for your local community? Its a really simple process that will inspire and support the audience to get through challenging times. To find out more click this link and enter your details and we will take it from there!
